The Durban’s Super Giants will be back home again after two away games as we prepare for our sixth match of SA20 Season 4 against the Pretoria Capitals. The contest will get underway at 5:30 PM SAST on January 7 at the iconic Kingsmead Stadium in Durban, where the home crowd energy will make all the difference.

Our previous meeting with the Pretoria Capitals was unfortunately abandoned due to rain, leaving unfinished business between the two sides. After five games in the competition, we currently sit on eight points, with one win, two defeats, and two matches ending in no results.

While the season hasn’t quite flowed the way we would have liked so far, the points on the board ensure we are still very much in the hunt.

Despite a tricky start, the mood in the Super Giants camp remains upbeat. There have been plenty of encouraging signs, especially the impact of Noor Ahmad, whose skill and guile with the ball continue to trouble batters. Evan Jones has been another major bright spot, consistently delivering with the bat, while the improving form of our openers - Kane Williamson and Devon Conway - has given us stronger platforms at the top of the innings.

Adding further firepower to the squad, Sunil Narine has now joined the team and is raring to go in Durban. His experience and all-round quality could prove to be a game-changer as the tournament heats up.

England’s power-packed all-rounder Liam Livingstone has also arrived and will be eager to entertain the Kingsmead crowd with his trademark big hitting. We also send our best wishes to Tony de Zorzi for a speedy recovery, as he sadly misses the remainder of the season.

As we return home, the focus is clear. We are excited about chasing our first win of 2026 and believe this match can spark our redemption arc towards playoff qualification. The belief is strong, the energy is high, and Kingsmead is ready!
