The Durban’s Super Giants are set for their third match of SA20 Season 4, returning to familiar territory for the second successive home game at Kingsmead.
The clash against Joburg Super Kings will take place on 30 December at 5:30 PM SAST and the team will be eager to put on a show after rain played spoilsport in the previous encounter against MI Cape Town.
Despite the interruption, the Super Giants made a strong start in that game. Riding high on confidence from a 15-run victory over MI Cape Town in the season opener, the momentum was clearly building. The top order once again looked in ominous touch, with Kane Williamson and Devon Conway racing to 37 without loss in just four overs, showcasing intent & control before the weather intervened.
As the competition intensifies, the focus now shifts to maintaining that upward curve. The squad is buzzing with confidence, and the goal is clear - extend the strong start & strengthen our push towards early Playoffs qualification. With form and rhythm on our side, the team is eager to turn promising performances into consistent results.
Adding to the excitement are the heroics of Heinrich Klaasen and Noor Ahmad in our encounter against JSK last season. On that occasion, Klaasen delivered a masterclass with an unbeaten 76 off 47 balls, while Noor Ahmad spun magic with a match-winning spell of 3/25, including a maiden over, earning him the Player of the Match award. Their impact will once again be crucial as the Super Giants look to assert dominance at home.
As Kingsmead prepares to come alive, we urge our fans to bring the energy and the belief. Cheer your hearts out, back the boys till the very end and let’s all hope the rain gods stay far away this time.
