We have never lost to MI Cape Town and the boys will give it their all to keep that perfect record intact when we visit Newlands for our sixth fixture of the SA20 2024 on Tuesday.

After a brilliant three-game winning run to kick off the campaign, our last two games haven’t quite gone as per plans. Despite back-to-back losses to Pretoria and Sunrisers, though, we are still comfortably placed at the top half of the SA20 2024 points table.

However, we know very well that resting on our laurels isn’t an option. Skipper Keshav Maharaj and the boys are hard at work to try and end the slump and a visit to the Newlands presents us with the perfect opportunity to make a return to winning ways.

In fact, our three-match win streak this season began with a thrilling victory over MICT at Kingsmead in our SA20 2024 season opener.

It was a Heinrich Klaasen show over at Kingsmead and we’ll be hoping for another class act from our season’s top scorer this Tuesday as well.

MICT, however, are no pushovers, especially at home. Since their defeat to us, they have won two of their four outings and will be on the hunt for a third.

In Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen, MICT probably boast of the most in-form opening pair in SA20 this season and separating them early may very well hold the key to our success.

We do have the likes of Reece Topley and Maharaj in our bowling line-up and both have a knack for picking up vital wickets at crucial junctures in games. Keemo Paul, who dismissed both Rickleton and Dussen, in our victory at Kingsmead may also play an important role in Tuesday’s encounter.

MI Cape Town vs Durban’s Super Giants

Played three, won three - that’s how our head-to-head record against MICT reads.

Last season, we did a double over MICT with Quinton de Kock starring with a fantastic 63 at Kingsmead before an all-round team performance brought us a five-wicket win at Newlands. This season, Klaasen’s breezy 85 off 35 balls helped us to a thrilling 11-run win in a rain-curtailed match at home.
