Raining fours and sixes. Last over thrillers. Nail-biting contests. The first edition of the SA20 promises everything!

The inaugural season of the SA20 league is all set to commence on January 10, 2023, and the Durban Super Giants' contingent is raring to get going and stamp their authority in the competition.

Led by South Africa wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock, who comes with great T20 experience having played franchise cricket across the globe, the Super Giants’ squad boasts several top names in the world of cricket.

A host of renowned Proteas’ players are in the squad, including Kyle Abbott, Junior Dala, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, and Dwaine Pretorius.

With the South African players poised to make the best use of the home conditions, a handful of overseas players will look to make their mark by making valuable contributions throughout the tournament.

The West Indian quartet of Johnson Charles, Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers and Keemo Paul head the group of overseas recruits, arriving with a proven reputation of being match-winners.

Matthew Breetzke, Dilshan Madushanka and Wiaan Mulder are the young guns who will be expected to make the best use of the platform in their quest to become the future stars of the sport.

Furthermore, DSG’s head coach Lance Klusener will be flanked by Morne Morkel and Jonty Rhodes as bowling and fielding coaches, respectively.

With Jonty Rhodes being revered as one of the best fielders of all time, don’t be surprised if one of our very own players manages to pull off a stunning piece of fielding to leave the fans spellbound!

Talking about the schedule, an action-packed season is in store for the DSG with matches being played roughly every alternate day. The Quinton de Kock-led side will play all the other teams twice in the league stage, beginning with Joburg Super Kings on Wednesday, January 11, at 5:30 PM local time

So, put your seatbelts on and delve into the excitement of watching some riveting cricket action.
