Our sensational winning streak in SA20 2024 may have ended, but the team is eager to reload and bounce right back when we host defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Kingsmead this Saturday.

Though Thursday's loss to Pretoria Capitals at Centurion was disappointing, there were a lot of positive takeaways from the match. Even after Will Jacks' century for PC up front, the way our bowlers, led by the brilliant Reece Topley, pulled things back in the final overs was applause-worthy.

Our chase did fall short by 17 runs in the end, but skipper Keshav Maharaj and Dwaine Pretorius' valiant last stand which kept us in the fight right till the end exemplified our never-say-die attitude and depth in batting.

Heading into our clash against SEC, the boys will also take confidence from last week’s win against the reigning champions in Gqeberha. We beat them last Saturday and we can do it this week too, at our own home, in front of our fans, our tribe.

JJ Smuts was the star of the show last weekend and we are rooting for a Jon Jon Saturday special yet again.

Since the 35-run loss to us in their own backyard, Aiden Markram and Co. have beaten MI Cape Town by four runs to pick up their first win of the season. They will come here hoping for a second but unfortunately for them, THIS IS KINGSMEAD - home of the Super Giants.

Durban’s Super Giants vs Sunrisers Eastern Cape head-to-head record

Till date, we have faced SEC thrice and won once.

Before our 35-run victory in SA20 204, SEC got the better of us in Kingsmead last season. We did have SEC on the ropes early in the away fixture but rain came to their rescue and washed away the game.
