Following a dominant win over Paarl Royals at Boland Park on Friday, our team is gearing up for an exhilarating Sunday showdown against the same opponents, this time on our home turf at Kingsmead.

Friday’s game saw Quinton de Kock's special knock lift us to the top of the SA20 2024 points table.

With 23 points from seven matches, we hold a slim lead over Royals, who have just one point less. Now, our focus will be to hold onto the perch by sustaining the winning momentum.

Marcus Stoinis claimed three crucial wickets on Friday while Noor Ahmed and Keshav Maharaj combined well in the middle overs to choke Paarl Royals and secure a special win for us. A valuable bonus point was the cherry on top.

Klaasen is our top run-scorer this season. His 230 runs from seven matches have come at an average of 46 and a strike rate exceeding 194, which is the highest among players who have scored over 100 runs in SA20 this season.

On Friday, Klaasen took a liking to Lungi Ngidi, the season’s leading wicket-taker, and smashed him for a boundary and three sixes in the final over. Matthew Breetzke has been solid at the top and QDK’s resurgence could not have come at a better time.

Paarl Royals, who have the dangerous Jason Roy, Jos Buttler and David Miller in their ranks, will come out all guns blazing. However, our bowling lineup includes proven match-winners in Reece Topley, Naveen-ul-Haq, Stoinis, Noor Ahmed and of course, skipper Keshav Maharaj.

Durban’s Super Giants vs Paarl Royals head-to-head

We hold a slight edge over Paarl Royals when it comes to head-to-head record.

We beat Paarl Royals on their home ground on Friday. Last season, we won our home game by 27 runs after posting 216/4 batting first but fell a mere 10 runs short of chasing 169 in the away fixture.
